Organisation:Disability Benefit Centre

Comment:

There are eight Disability Benefit Centres in the UK. Each one deals with initial applications for Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance within its geographical area. The Manchester DBC covers Greater Manchester, East Lancashire, North Cheshire and Derbyshire (High Peak). Queries with regard to the progress of individual applications can be sent direct to the DBC. Benefit completions throughout the area may be dealt over the phone or via a home visit. Once a final decision has been made the DBC will continue to deal with payments, changes in circumstances, reconsider requests and appeals for three months. After this time the claim will be transferred to the Disability Contact Processing Unit (DCPU) at Blackpool (Helpline 08457-123456) who will deal with any further aspects.
