Cancerkin provides supportive care, information and rehabilitation services for patients with breast cancer and their families. Emotional and psychological support is offered to people facing this situation, plus a range of literature, including booklets on Breast Awareness, Radiotherapy after Breast Conservation Surgery and Caring for your Arm. A daily lymphoedema clinic is provided, by hospital specialist referral only, along with home visits, and a range of complementary therapies including:
+ aromatherapy;
+ reflexology;
+ reiki.
The 'Look Good...Feel Better' programme is avilable to women suffering from any type of cancer. There is also a drop-in information library with internet access. Monthly supprt group meetings are held for all ages and a special group is also heald each month for young women diagnosed with breast cancer between the ages of twenty and forty. Cancerkin offers training to health professionals and lay volunteers in the field of breast cancer and associated problems, by means of seminars.
