Comment:

Gay-Glos has fully trained volunteers providing a telephone and e-mail advice and support service, and a face to face 'befriending' service to anyone who is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or dealing with sexuality issues. Safer sex, domestic violence, information, drink, drugs, relationships indicate the range of topics covered. Training services and case-by-case interventionsare available to other organizations. An information website is available.
Gay-Glos runs Friendship Support Groups in rural Gloucestershire for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people aged over eighteen. These groups give an individual a sense of belonging, wider personal and social networks, and support, and are run by volunteers who have similar experiences as other members of the group.
If you would like to become a volunteer and help run a group, call 01452-504059 and talk to Sarah.
In June, Ottakar's in Cheltenham is starting a Lesbian and Gay reading group - GAY-GLOS hope this new reading group will become as successful as the rural friendship support groups.
NB Gay-Glos was formerly called Gay, Lesbian Friend Helpline Gloucestershire.
