Comment: | The Genetic Interest Group (GIG) is the national umbrella body for voluntary organisations concerned with genetic disorders. It aims to promote understanding and service provision for those affected by the conditions. GIG provides information on disorders and links people up with specific support groups where there exists by post or phone. Meetings are run for lay and professional people on topics of common concern. GIG publishes a quarterly newsletter and seeks to educate and raise awareness amongst opinion formers, people of influence and the public about human genetics and genetic disorders. |
