Comment: | GIS Supported Employment uses schemes which are a stepping-stone to help people with disabilities into employment. The schemes are Government funded and are designed to give people with disabilities the opportunity to gain employment. GIS Supported Employment is about real pay, for real work, with the same terms and conditions as everybody else. If you have a disability and are looking for work, they will work with you to match your skills and abilities to local job vacancies.
GIS Supported Employment provides support to help people with disabilities to retain their job if, because of the onset or deterioration of a disability, they would be unable to continue to work without support.
Originally GIS Supported Employment existed to work with people with disabilities; more recently, however, they have begun to work with those on benefits who want to return to work. GIS Supported Employment also offers individual information, advice and guidance sessions about current learning and employment opportunities in Gloucestershire. This service is available to people over twenty-one who have yet to gain a level two qualification.
