Comment: | Both parents Forever (BPF) is a support service which aims to help all parents, grandparents and children following divorce, separation or care proceedings on their rights to contact, residence, information from authorities etc. Help is also given in child abduction cases. A counselling service and a telephone helpline is operated on a twenty four hour basis and provides support whenever required. Publications include leaflets, booklets, reading lists, and a newsletter. BPF maintains contact with similar groups overseas. They also have a list of recommended solicitors, many of whom still do Legal Aid Work. In association with MISTER X, they give help and advice to men who are victims of Domestic violence. In June MISTER X and BPF organise a Mens International over ten days, looking at issues relating to Mens Health and family issues. They welcome other groups to participate, or who might like to organise events in their area.
In September they hold an Equal Parents Week Festival in association with the Childrens Rights Council in the USA and other organisations worldwide. Contacts have been made with MATCH (Mothers Apart from Their Children), and participation from other groups or organisations would be welcome. |
