Organisation:Full Time Mothers

Comment:

Full Time Mothers is a non-political, non-denominational, nation-wide voluntary organisation. They believe that mothers should have the choice and opportunity to return to paid employment in an environment that respects and supports the work they are involved with in the home - and that employers and employment policies should facilitate the demands of being a fully engaged mother.
They aim to:
promote understanding of the child's need for a full-time mother;
enhance the status and self esteem of mothers at home;
campaign for changes in the tax and benefits system and to employment policy, in order to give more women the choice to be full-time mothers.
There are local groups - you can find out if there is one up and running in your area by contacting Maura Launchbury on 01235-821179. They can give you useful tips on starting one, if there isn't one in place already. They also produce a regular newsletter for members
