HITS (UK) Family Support Network provides information, advice and support to families and carers of children with Hypomelanosis of Ito (HI). The Network aims to support families affected by HI by letter, telephone, e-mail, a yahoo chat group, family days and two newsletters a year. Bringing families together often reduces the sense of isolation felt. HITS is now supporting families in twenty one countries.

HI is a neurocutaneous syndrome of streaky, patchy, whorl-like, or linear macular hypopigmentation of the skin, often associated with seizures, developmental and intellectual retardation and other anomalies.

There is also the Ito Helpline (020-8352-1824) which is manned most Tuesday evenings (UK Time only) from 7:00 to 9:00pm - The helpline is only manned at these times; please do not call this number outside of these hours.
