Comment:

The Encephalitis Society (formerly the Encephalitis Support Group) is a UK based charity. Encephalitis is the potentially fatal inflammation of the brain caused by viral infection, which can result in long term disability.
The aim of the society is to improve the quality of life of all people affected by encephalitis. This is done through support services, such as outreach services, organised meetings and local support networks.
Resources available from the society include booklets, factsheets and information packs, a regular newsletter, a full publications list and the website.
Research programmes are developed and funded, and the Encephalitis Resource Centre has now been established as dedicated focus for education, training and research into the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of all those affected by encephalitis.
