Comment: | Portage aims to help parents with pre-school children who are slow to learn, or who have other special needs. A regular home visitor will visit the parents house, usually once a week. During this time, the parents and home visitor will be able to plan together what things to teach the child, and how to set about it, through play. The home visitor will be able to offer advice and practical suggestions, bring special toys and games along, and the parents will be able to practice some of the activities during the rest of the week. |
