Organisation:GRIP Team (Early Intervention Service)

Comment:

This is a new venture in partnership working between the Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Trust and Cheltenham Community Projects (CCP). The GRIP Team has been set up to identify and treat first time psychosis in young people at an earlier stage than services have done traditionally. The service aims to be youth friendly and to offer not only detailed assessment, but also a range of specialised treatments to help young peope recover and lead a fulfilling life.
The team are based at Grove Street, and have developed strong relationships with the different teams at CCP, and are involved in several joint working and training initiatives. It is hoped that this service will develop across the county over the next few years - they are about to start a small service in Stroud at the Painswick Inn Project - operational from end July / August 2005.
