The Child Death Helpline is run jointly by Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital in London and The Alder Centre, Alder Hey Hospital, in Liverpool. It is a confidential listening service of emotional support for anyone affected by the death of a child of any age (from pre-birth to beyond middle age), under any circumstances, however recently or long ago. This line is staffed by volunteer parents who have suffered the death of their own child. Callers may be parents, other relatives, friends or professionals. The telephones are open every evening from 7:00 to 10:00pm, and Monday to Friday 10:00am to 1:00pm (4:00pm on Wednesdays).
