The Gardners Lane Childrens Centre has been designated a Centre of Excellence. It has been part of a pilot project to develop integrated Early Years Centres in Gloucestershire, providing a range of services in one place. The Centres are funded and managed by Gloucestershire County Council.
They offer a range of flexible services, which include:
+ nursery education for children from two years through to transition into school;
+ assessment placements for children with sprcial educational needs referred from local authority;
+ drop-in sessions where children can play safely and parents / carers can meet;
+ information, advice and support;
+ adult education and parenting groups with creches for children;
+ home based support for individual families;
+ assessment of parenting and childrens development;
+ full day care;
+ family holiday play-schemes in school holidays;
+ groups for parent / carers and babies to meet;
+ access to a range of health services.
