Comment:

Rett syndrome is a complex neurological disorder that affects mainly girls. Whilst there are variations in the severity of the disorder, most people with Rett syndrome are profoundly and multiply disabled with high support needs throughout life. The Rett Syndrome Association UK (RSAUK) is a national charity offering practical help, information, friendship and support to people with Rett Syndrome, their families and carers.
Their services include a quarterly magazine, a Family weekend, self-help support groups across the UK, and local work with professionals to establish knowledge and good practice in care and management. Their Family Support Workers provide pro-active support and information to families and carers.
They fund research and work in partnership internationally, and rely on donations and grants for their income.
