Organisation:Hearing Aid Council

Comment:

The Hearing Aid Council (HAC) is the government body that is responsible for setting standards of professional training, performance and conduct for individuals and companies involved in the assessment of hearing loss and subsequent sale of hearing aids. Only individuals registered with the Hearing Aid Council are entitled to dispense hearing aids. You can check whether someone is registered or find your nearest registered dispenser using the search facility on their website. If you are unsure about the status of someone, suspect that someone is illegally dispensing hearing aids (the Council issues all registered dispensers with a photo ID card, which includes their name and registration number), or need further information about what a dispenser can and cannot do, please contact the Hearing Aid Council.
