AIRS - Access to Information and Reading Services, is a four-times weekly talking newspaper for people who cannot access print. The service is free to Gateshead residents; outside Gateshead, the subscription of £60.00 a year covers four weekly sixty-minute tapes. The tapes cover national and international news and features, including longer articles on talking books, the arts, science, interviews, travel etc.
A transcription service is also available. Material can be transferred into Braille, large print or on to cassette or CD. Tactile drawings / maps and British Sign Language on video / DVD are also available. AIRS undertake work for all kinds of organisations throughout the UK.
