The Consumer Health Information Centre (CHIC) is an advice service set up to help you to understand and treat everyday healthcare problems. There are many minor illnesses which, although unpleasant, don't require a visit to the doctor. CHIC gives you access to independent professional advice through an expert panel of doctors and pharmacists.
CHIC offers a range of free helpful leaflets on common everyday ailments. Topics covered include getting the best from medicines you buy, colds and flu, hayfever, allergies and men's health.
If you are feeling unwell, you can use the 'Symptoms finder' on the CHIC website identify symptoms and find a suitable treatment to feel better, be it cold, flu, indigestion or hay fever.
