Comment:

Help the Aged is committed to addressing the issues that matter to older people. They have four main priorities:
Combating Poverty - Help the Aged believes older people have a right, at the very minimum, to a decent income - enough for adequate heating, a healthy diet and a few enjoyable extras.
Reducing Isolation - One million older people say they feel trapped in their own homes. Help the Aged believes older people have a right to dignity, respect and independence, and to lead full and active lives.
Defeating Ageism - Age discrimination divides society. Treating older people as second-class citizens is degrading and it deprives us of their skills and talents.
Challenging Poor Care Standards - Help the Aged believes older people have a right to expect both quality and equality in care, as in all things.
Working together with older people they campaign, research and develop practical solutions. Help the Aged raises funds and makes grants to community projects for older people. A list of free Help the Aged advice leaflets is available.
