Comment: | The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a specialist mental health service which aims to provide a multi-disciplinary, community service that responds to the psychiatric, psychological and emotional needs of children, young people and their families. It also aims to educate and support and provide consultation to other professionals working with a similar client group.
Psychiatric and psychological assessment and treatment, family therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy, group work, psychotherapy, counselling and pharmocotherapy are all used, as appropriate.
Referrals are accepted from GP's, Social Services, Educational Psychologists, paediatritians and other allied health professionals. Non GP referrers are asked to notify GP's in all cases. Please contact the service for further information. |
