Organisation:Artificial Eye Service (for Gloucestershire)

Comment:

The Artificial Eye Service of the NHS is free service to all patients who are entitled to treatment within the NHS. Patients of all ages, including babies, are seen at regular intervals and written information is issued to each about having an artificial eye. In addition partially sighted or blind patients are given a cassette tape containing the necessary information. Referrals should be made to the National Artificial Eye Service in Blackpool (see separate record); all other information can be obtained from the clinic in Bath.

For Gloucestershire, Miss Jefferies supports a clinic held on Wednesdays at the Ophthalmic Out-patients Department, Gloucester Royal Hospital, for patients from all of the Gloucestershire Health Authority region.
