Comment: | The Everyman Club meets every Tuesday 7:00 to 9:00pm in Parklands Community Centre, Wymans Road, Whaddon, Cheltenham ( behind the Robins' Football ground). It is a social club for people with learning disabilities who live in the community. It has a friendly atmosphere with help and advice with any problems the members may have. There is a disco with all types of music, and numerous activities are available - draughts, snooker, television and video, table tennis etc. The Club also operates a shop selling snacks and hot and cold drinks. Outings and social events are are arranged, a Christmas dinner and party, barbecue, bowling etc. Ask about schemes which may help with transport needs.
Membership is usually by recommendation of a community nurse, key worker or social worker. All members must be able to look after themselves or be accompanied by a carer. |
