The Birchington Convalescent Benefit Fund, administered by Church Society, makes grants to enable children from low income families to receive convalescent treatment and / or a holiday, following a major or chronic long-term illness or surgery. Application must be by letter from a person who is professionally concerned for the recovery of the child (eg GP or Social Worker) and who is prepared to take responsibility for the payment of any grant. The letter must include details of the family's financial situation and the convalescence required.
