Organisation:Community Service Volunteers

Comment:

Community Service Volunteers (CSV) places people aged sixteen plus in social settings as full time volunteers away from their home areas. Volunteers support people coming out of hospital, help disabled people live independently in their own homes, provide flexible respite care and support disabled students at university, befriend teenagers at risk of offending and support residents of homeless hostels. They also volunteer in residential settings, hostels and in special needs schools. They offer enthusiasm, practical care, extra activities, friendship and their own skills. Each CSV volunteer is provided with free accommodation, free food, a weekly allowance and travel expenses.
CSV full-time volunteers do NOT need previous experience, special skills or minimum qualifications, but they must be prepared to commit for between four and twelve months, and to go where help is most needed.
