Comment: | ENABLE Scotland aims to promote the welfare of people with learning difficulties, to encourage them to participate in decisions affecting their lives, to facilitate mutual help and support amongst carers, and to encourage research and the provision of services.
ENABLE Scotland campaigns for better rights and services for people with learning disabilities and their families in Scotland. Over sixty local branches provide support, advice and social activities.
ENABLE Scotland also has a national information service, a legal service and local advocacy projects. In addition, its service company can build and provide any direct service that someone with a learning disability might need. In different parts of Scotland, it offers jobs, housing and support for people with profound learning disabilities, training, family-based respite, short breaks, day services and supported living.
ENABLE Scotland is part of the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disability and a member of Learning Disability Alliance Scotland, Disability Agenda Scotland, Inclusion Europe and Inclusion International. |
