Comment: | The Perthes Association also helps people with MED (Multiple Epiphyseal Dysplasia), osteochondritis and offers many services. A telephone helpline is available offering general advice, support and comfort. They can put people in touch with families of the same age and undergoing similar treatment. To back up this service, information is given about the condition and its management. The Association has a limited number of wheelchairs, buggies and hand propelled trikes available on loan to members. Social events are arranged, including a Christmas party. Booklets produced include an Association Handbook and A Layman's Guide to Osteochondritis. The Perthes Association also produces a newsletter. |
