Comment: | The Society gives information and emotional support to donor recipient and waiting recipient families, also information to public, professionals and media. It offers support and talks to ICU and donor organ retrieval theatre nurses. They have a tree adoption scheme for involved families. The Society prints a twice yearly publication and also produces a number of booklets:
+ The Gift of Life, an Overview of Organ and Tissue Transplantation and Donation;
+ The Gift of Life 2, a Handbook for Donor Families;
+ The Gift of Life 3, An Introductory booklet for kidney patients and families;
+ The Gift of Life 4, an introductory book for liver patients and their families.
Also available is a Schools Education Roadshow. The Website has downloadable 'pages' to enable educationalists to give their own talks. |
