Comment: | The Anxiety Disorders Clinic provides a comprehensive assessment and treatment service for children and young people presenting with symptoms of anxiety. The aims of the service are to:
offer specialist Cognitive Behavioural Treatment (CBT) for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders;
conduct research into the causes, treatment and prevention of childhood anxiety disorders;
disseminate specialist CBT for anxiety disorders;
work with, and to support, relevant voluntary sector organisations.
The team's referral criteria are that:
+ anxiety disorder should be the main problem;
+ some problems such as anxiety-based school refusal require local access, and distant referrals might therefore not be viable insome cases;
+ the team operate an open access referral policy. |
