The National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) provides a wide range of services including medical assessment, in-patient and out-patient services, respite care, rehabilitation, longer term care, research, MRI scanner dedicated to epilepsy and an epilepsy information service which provides training, resources and a Helpline (01494-601400).
Medical referral is necessary for the Assessment Services and other medical services. Also available is an Associate Membership Scheme. They have introduced an Epilepsy Information Network to provide information in the community run by accredited volunteers. NSE also provide training to healthcare professionals, social services, carers and employers.
