Comment: | Belsize Social Day Centre offers a friendly setting to meet and relax. Members are encouraged to involve themselves in all aspects of running the Centre with support, as required, from staff and volunteers. The activities programme, developed in consultation with members, caters for a wide range of interests. There is a large art / craft room, and a games facility. Activities and projects change with the needs of members. Examples are smoking cessation, anxiety management, a hearing voices group, life coaching (only through GP referral), self confidence building, a life journey group and self harm support. They run photographic classes, with an extensive dark room facility and digital computers.
There is also a self-help support group for people with agoraphobia (see separate record).
This centre is run by the Gloucestershire Association for Mental Health (gamh). |
