Comment: | The Association for Visually Impaired Office Staff (AVIOS) is a self-help organisation which works for the benefit of visually impaired people employed, training or having experience in office-based occupations. Full membership is open to such people who should be registered blind or registered partially sighted. Members receive a bi-monthly cassette magazine of general information and news about AVIOS, reduced fees for AVIOS training events and exhibitions, and occasional pamphlets are produced on specific subjects.
AVIOS aims to:
+ promote employment of blind and partially sighted people in office-related work;
+ maintain awareness of developments in new technology;
+ liaise with those bodies and agencies by consulting with them on the needs and concerns of its members. |
