Organisation:Disabled Facilities Grant

Comment:

Grants may be available to make certain alterations to your home to make it more suitable for a disabled person to live in. A supporting letter of recommendation from an OT is required before any application for adaptations can be considered. If the council is approached in the first instance, they MAY refer the client on to an OT if they feel there is a need for certain adaptations, although in general, the OT is approached directly by the client first of all. The amount of any grant depends on income and savings. Anybody requiring advice should ring the Housing Services on 01684-272176 / 272177 during normal ofice hours. No grant aid can be given for existing adaptations.
Also see Anchor Staying Put Scheme for other available assistance.
