The Disabled Facilities Grant is intended to make the dwelling of a disabled person more suitable to live in, and to help the person manage more independently. Works can include access into the dwelling (ramps, door widening), access around the dwelling, extensions or alterations to provide adequate washing and toilet facilities, kitchen facilities, improving heating and controls. GCC require a referral from a Social Services Occupational Therapist stating that work is necessary. All grant applicants are subject to a test of resources.
