Outlook is a confidential service for anyone with psychological or emotional concerns linked to an inherited, trauma or illness-related disfigurement or visible difference. The service offers:
specialist individual assessments;
telephone and face to face support and information to the individual,immediate family, and health professionals;
individual counselling/therapy to help clients address their concerns and develop effective strategies for dealing with difficulties.
Groups are available and mainly focus on friendship and social interaction skills, including a specialist group for children changing schools. Staffing consists of two Clinical Psychologists, Outreach Specialist, administrator and admin assistant. There is also a Lifespan Service- your local NHS Primary Care Trust may have to pay for this service if you are not from the South West region.
