The Fibromyalgia Association acts as an information centre for people with fibromyalgia, and medical professionals with an interest in the condition. Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. The pain tends to be felt as diffuse aching or burning, often described as head to toe. It may be worse at some times than at others. It may also change location, usually becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used the most. The fatigue ranges from feeling tired, to the exhaustion of a flu-like illness.
The National Helpline (0870-220-1232) is open Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Benefits Helpline (0870-751-7389) is avaialble on Mondays and Fridays, from 10.00am to 12 noon.
