Comment: | Between them, the Volunteer Car Scheme and the Ring-and-Ride minibuses provide a transport service for people living in Stroud and surrounding district. The Service can be used to visit doctors, dentists, hairdressers, day centres, shops and friends, as well as getting you to hospital appointments in the Stroud District (including Berkeley) if you are not entitled to Ambulance Service or Hospital Car Service. To arrange a volunteer car or a journey on the Ring-and-Ride minibus, phone the Centre between 9:00am and 1:00pm, Monday to Friday, at least two working days before you want to travel. If you are a new client, the Centre will ask a few questions which will enable them to help those whose need is greatest.
The fares for the Volunteer Car Service are £2.50 for the first two miles, then forty pence per mile. The minibuses also have a minimum fare of £2.50. All fares are reviewed annually.
