Comment: | Cheltenham Community Transport (CCT) aims to help combat social isolation and improve the quality of life for elderly, frail and disabled people by providing an accessible means of transport.
CCT is funded by Gloucestershire County Council to provide an essential transport service for people who are unable to access public transport in the Cheltenham area. Elderly, frail or disabled people are now able to continue to take part in community life by attending events, day centres, visiting friends, and going shopping.
Fares are £2.25 per trip within Cheltenham; out-of-area journeys are priced individually.
CCT also brokers out two of their minibuses, which are loaned out to organisations in return for a small donation. These buses are driven by the organisation's own volunteer drivers, all of whom must have received the appropriate MiDAS training - provided by CCT.
Cheltenham Community Transport was formed through the amalgamation of the Cheltenham Voluntary Car Service and Spatrek. |
