Comment:

Stroud and Gloucester Crossroads is a charity which provides community based respite breaks for carers. Highly trained carer support workers take over the role of the carer for a few hours each week, enabling them to have a few hours break from their caring role. This service operatesthroughout the Stroud District Council area and Gloucester City (including Hucclecote, Churchdown, Brockworth and Quedgeley).
The charity also provides a Supporting People service to people over fifty five living in the Stroud District Coucil area (see separate record).
Although shopping can only be provided for six weeks following a hospital discharge under the Supporting People scheme, Stroud and Gloucester Crossroads can provide a shopping service (in the Stroud District Council area only) on a private basis (see separate record).
