Comment:

The British Canoe Union (BCU) supports the promotion of canoeing for disabled people. Canoeists with disabilities are encouraged to take the Award Scheme Tests. Where a specific disability prevents a candidate from completing part of the test, the examiner may give the award with a suitable endorsement setting out the part of the test not completed. The Union has a list of Coaching Scheme members who support canoeing activities for disabled people, and who can be recalled to provide a specific response to any requests for help that may be received.

The British Canoe Union still exists, and the contact details remain correct; unfortunately we cannot vouch for the committment to disabled people since the BCU has not so far supplied GUiDE with updated information.
