Organisation:British Parachute Association

Comment:

The Association's Safety and Training Committee gave approval to the use of Tandem skydiving in the UK. The Tandem system has made it possible for many disabled people to enjoy the thrill of free-fall. To participate you will need a BPA Medical Certificate for most disabilities except sensory impairment;if you are over forty you must not be overweight. The Club / Centre Chief Instructor will be pleased to advise further, and it will be their decision on admittance to training / jumping. The parachute comprises of two harnesses which are joined together by strong hooks. It has brakes so that forward speed can be stopped, giving both parachutists a soft landing.
For details of BPA affiliated Clubs and Centres (Drop Zones) where parachuting takes place, visit the BPA website.
