IndependentAge provides financial support and friendship to older people to help them remain independent. They can offer:
+ a small regular income for life;
+ cash grants for emergencies;
+ help with equipment to aid independence;
+ the support and friendship of over a thousand volunteers.
Applicants must be sixty five or over, or over forty and permanently unable to work owing to physical disability. They must also have income and savings below certain limits set by the charity. IndependentAge concentrate their help on those who have made a significant contribution to the community.
