Comment: | The United Kingdom Noise Association (UKNA) is an independently-funded organisation which brings together a unique coalition of key organisations lobbying on different aspects of noise.
+ traffic noise;
+ aircraft noise;
+ neighbourhood noise;
+ firework noise;
+ piped music;
+ low frequency noise.
Their objective is to work to improve the noise climate across the UK. Its members include leading experts in the field, as well as individuals who are suffering noise problems. UKNA has produced reports, met with MPs, ministers and civil servants, responded to government consultation documents, and hopes to expand and take part in the developing debate on noise policy.
UKNA does not give detailed advice on individual cases, but their briefing sheets aim to assist both noise sufferers and noise campaigners. UKNA's work complements that of the Noise Abatement Society, who operate a very useful Helpline to assist and advise individual noise sufferers, and the National Society for Clean Air. |
