Organisation:Gloucestershire Breast Screening Service

Comment:

The Gloucestershire Breast Screening Service is a joint venture between Cheltenham and Gloucester District Health Authorities and the Cobalt Unit Appeal Fund. Screening is carried out at Linton House and the Mobile Mammography Unit which visits various Health Authority sites in the county. The examination involves taking an X-ray of both breasts to check for abnormalities. This may be momentarily uncomfortable, but is a quick and simple task. Facilities are available at Linton House if further X-rays, biopsies and examinations are necessary.
Screening is available on request to women aged seventy and over.
