Comment: | Cirencester SCOPE supports a number of initiatives to improve the quality of life for disabled people. The Society is involved in Careshare (01285-650168) which is the provision of respite care service in the home. They support WAYWAG, disabled teenagers who have formed and help to run their own group, meeting once a month at the St. Vincents Centre, Cheltenham. They also employ Mrs. Fiona Knowles, who runs PICS (see separate record), a support group for mothers of newly diagnosed disabled children in Gloucestershire - her phone number is 01666-837967. Where possible, equipment needs not supplied by statutory services are also met. |
