Organisation:Community Macmillan Team (West)

Comment:

Macmillan Nurses are part of a multi-disciplinary team trained to support people through cancer or other life threatening illnesses. This help extends to family and carers as needed. The nurses work with consultants, GPs, hospital and community nurses and other health care professionals. They are able to give special advice in the area of physical symptoms caused by illness as well as emotional support, counselling and benefits advice.
The service is provided in Community Hospitals or patients homes in the west of the county - this includes Gloucester City, Forest of Dean and part of Cotswold and Vale.

The east of the county is covered by the team based in Cheltenham.
