Organisation:National Association of Laryngectomee Clubs

Comment:

The Association's clubs promote the rehabilitation of people who have had laryngectomees through speech therapy, social support and monthly meetings. They visit local hospitals to lecture and demonstrate speech aids and to talk to patients before and after their operation. CLAN newsletter is published quarterly and is available free to individual members. NALC has three videos available to purchase. The Association also produces a card for laryngectomees to carry outlining the necessary procedure for resuscitation in an emergency. As part of their education programme they hold study days and lecture to schools of nursing and also speak to the emergency services regarding resuscitation.
