Comment: | The Dementia Care Trust is able to provide a Community Support worker for those who care for a person with dementia. The Community Support workers have all had training from the Dementia Care Trust and have a genuine interest in working with people who have dementia and mental illness. They are registered with the NCSC (National Care Standards Commission).
This is a very flexible service, ranging from four to five hours per month upwards. Services include day centres for people with dementia (see separate records), respite relief and a luncheon club. A community rehabilitation service, advice service and training are available. A counselling service is also available (see separate record).
