Organisation:County HIV Service

Comment:

The County HIV Service operates a counselling service for anyone who is considering taking a test for HIV on a same day testing and result basis. For those who have been tested and found positive, there is on-going support in terms of one-to-one meetings with specialist nurses and social workers. The telephone number (01452-311744, 9:00am to 5:00pm Mondays to Fridays) provides the caller with an opportunity to make an appointment in either Cheltenham or Gloucester. The main office is located at the Gloucester address, but regular HIV clinics for positive patients, attended by consultants and specialist nurses, are held at both Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals.
(NB The GUIDE Information Office keeps a fully updated copy of the comprehensive National AIDS Manual).
