Organisation:Cheltenham Community Protection Team (Police)

Comment:

The Cheltenham Domestic Violence Unit and the Cheltenham Racist Incident Team have amalgamated to become the Cheltenham Community Protection Team. This unit offers advice, support, information and protection based on the safety of victims (of either domestic violence or racial harassment) and their families. They liaise with every other agency working with domestic violence or racial issues. As police they operate a positive arrest and charging policy, but the needs and safety of the victim are paramount, and each case is assessed individually. Training is provided or offered both to police and other interested parties. There is a twenty four hour reception and ansaphone service.
People in any part of Gloucestershire can call the Police on 0845-090-1234 to be connected to the right section - including those relating to domestic violence or racial incidents.
