The Identity and Passport Service (IPS) is responsible for issuing passports to British Nationals present in the UK, and in the future, as part of the National Identity Scheme, ID cards for British and Irish nationals resident in the UK. To make applying as accessible as possible, you can both pick up and submit application forms through their two High Street partners (selected Post Office branches and Worldchoice Travel Agents). Also, the website now includes the standard application form.
Passports are free for all British nationals born on or before 2nd. September 1929.
As well as the London office, there are six local offices:

+ Glasgow: 3 Northgate, 96 Milton Street, Cowcaddens G4 OBT;
