Rural Stress Information Network (RSIN) is a registered charity established in 1996 due to concern about the number of suicides in farming. Its main services are:
+ a telephone helpline which provides support to callers in distress. This includes, if appropriate, referral to local support services (RSIN is a full member of the Telephone Helplines Association);
+ an information service on issues relating to stress and rurality;
+ working with volunatary, private and public sector organisations to improve local support networks and develop local initiatives to promote rural communities' mental health and well being.
